„regify apps“ enter the stage
Huefingen, 18th of November 2010 – regify AG, Huefingen, fully opens the regify® service for trusted and binding e-mail to customers and software partners. With immediate effect, partners and customers can develop and offer their own „regify apps“. Thus, regify AG extends the reach of the regify platform and helps create a new market for solutions by including partners and customers in the process of jointly identifying and solving the large variety of communication requirements.
First regify apps prove the approach
With „print-to-regify“, documents can be securely sent to e-mail addressees using the regify service. If, for example, a company wants to send its employees their salary statements by e-mail, only the e-mail address of the recipient must be in place. An automated process will take care of generating the digital post that will be sent securely and as an alternative to traditional letter mail. print-to-regify supports various sending methods: In case, the address details of the addressee do not contain an e-mail address, the document will be directly sent to the standard printer.
Furthermore, placing an optional marker into the document will trigger the splitting of PDF documents into separate ones. This is important for postal providers that quite often receive multi-page documents from their customers; and output formats may differ from page to page. Some pages may have to be printed out, enveloped and sent as traditional mail whereas other pages may have to be sent digitally using the regify service.
Another regify app takes care of the synchronization between regify user data and directory services such as LDAP or Active Directory from Microsoft. With „regify-directory-sync“, companies and organisations have a solution that helps them keep the regify user data up-to-date by automatically updating that data upon changes of data in the directory service.
The open regify platform for digital postal services
regify AG is in the process of certifying a variety of regify apps including applications for serial mailings and other digital postal services. „From day one, we have followed the approach to keep the regify platform open." says Volker Schmid, CTO of regify AG. „With the regify software development kits (SDK), customers and IT and software partners alike can develop sophisticated digital postal services in a fraction of the time needed when compared to developing with alternative methods. Certified apps are listed on the regify website.
Collaborative development of solutions is the right approach to take, according to Schmid, in particular for small and medium-sized software companies: „Also, the SME initiative ‚Smart Mail 2015’ is heading into this direction“, adds Schmid. Smart Mail 2015 develops intelligent formats of the letter.
