Huefingen/Aachen, 11th of May 2010 – With immediate effect, lawyers and law firms can use Securamail in order to communicate electronically in a trusted and binding manner. The service is based on the regify® solution that successfully entered the German market a year ago. „For legal professions, today's correspondance is increasingly being handled in electronic form" says Peter Kranz, Managing Director of ac-systeme GmbH & Co. KG, the company that offers the Securamail service. „With Securamail, lawyers and other legal professions can securely and comfortably send and receive e-mails with confidential contents on their existing e-mail infrastructure“, states Kranz. In order to use Securamail, lawyers simply register at www.4advocate.de. Then, they can either exchange e-mails via the web portal, or alternatively, they can use the service from their local e-mail client, e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or BlackBerry.

In the past, contracts and declarations of intention sent by e-mail lacked the required evidentiary value as well as the required security. For an e-mail to be legally effective, authenticity of the sender must be ensured. Furthermore, any form of manipulation by a 3rd party, e.g. of contents or e-mail addresses, must be inhibited. "Securamail satisfies these requirements through the multi-layered security architecture of the regify® solution that comprises user, provider and clearing service" says Kurt Kammerer, CEO of regify AG. "Unauthorized 3rd parties are denied access to contents of confidential e-mail. Also, the communication is documented down to the level of the individual e-mail transaction". The sender of a message receives a confirmation of receipt and has online access to his transaction history that includes all pending and past e-mail transactions, thereby providing auditability on the most granular level.
