Switch to Outlook new: Need for action for regimail users 

Microsoft is planning to switch from Outlook classic to the new Microsoft Outlook (Microsoft Outlook new). From 6 January 2025, Outlook new will be activated by default for Microsoft 365 business plans. 

• Customers with Microsoft 365 Business plans will be migrated first.
• Microsoft has not yet published a schedule for Microsoft 365 Enterprise plans.
• Customers with Microsoft Office 2016, 2019 and Microsoft LTSC versions are not affected. According to the latest information, these versions will remain unchanged.

At the current time, regify cannot recommend the use of Microsoft Outlook new, as the interfaces (API) of Outlook new are not sufficient to develop a regimail Outlook add-in ( details ). 

Need for action for Microsoft 365 users with business plans 

• The use of Microsoft Outlook new is not supported in connection with regimail. Microsoft Outlook new does not offer a COM interface, which is mandatory for use with the regimail add-in.
• Act before 06.01.2025 and prevent the automatic changeover in order to continue using regimail and Outlook classic!
